The management of the tube mill is reorganizing

Like so many companies, Poppe + Potthoff Präzisionsstahlrohre GmbH is constantly facing new challenges. In order to master these in the best possible way and at the same time set the course for the future, the management at Engerstraße in Werther has reorganized itself as of November 2023. The aim is to distribute responsibility for the diverse strategic projects within the company across several shoulders in future.

The future management of the pipe mill will be divided into three departments: Technology (Dr. Christian Kronholz), Sales (Thorsten Ellersieck, previously Head of Sales) and Commercial (Waldemar Kromer, previously Commercial Director). This new organization is intended to ensure the successful continuation of the company’s ongoing transformation. The guiding principle chosen for the joint work is: “Preserve the good, create the better”. “By reorganizing the management team, we can continue to position the Engerstraße site for the future in the best possible way,” says Managing Director Thorsten Ellersieck. “Of course, this also includes further investments in the coming years, such as in infrastructure, logistics and large-scale facilities.”

The newly formed team shares a vision: the tube plant should continue to be a leading manufacturer of precision steel tubes with special requirements in the future. To achieve this, continuous modernization of the site will increase its competitiveness. Sustainability in particular will play a decisive role in this. Among other things, the project to introduce lean management, which was launched in 2023, will be continued. This will lead to a continuous improvement of internal processes and thus to more sustainable production.
