Poppe + Potthoff will be training again in 2023
Starting a career is a challenge for many young people. An apprenticeship in an industrial company is a particularly good way to combine personal growth with a long-term perspective. In this way, both applicants and companies benefit from a comprehensive on-site induction and thus create the basis for a long-term employment relationship. For this reason, the family-owned company Poppe + Potthoff, based in Werther (Westphalia), is once again training apprentices in the coming year.
The company has advertised several apprenticeship positions for applications. At the company headquarters at Dammstraße, applicants are being sought for an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk (m/f/d). During the varied training lasting up to 3 years, the trainees will get to know the many commercial departments of a globally operating automotive supplier, such as finance, controlling, purchasing, marketing, sales, at the group’s headquarters as well as at the tube mill at Engerstraße. In the process, the trainees are actively involved in the planning, implementation and monitoring of numerous commercial tasks and thus gain a comprehensive insight into the company.
Apprentices are also being sought at the tube mill, the original plant of the P+P Group. There, for example, an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic (m/f/d) is offered. In the course of their training, which also lasts several years, the apprentices develop into specialists for the commissioning and maintenance of diverse production machines and systems, as well as for metalworking with tools and machines – this includes, for example, manual processes such as turning, welding, drilling or milling. Together with their colleagues, the apprentices will work to ensure that there are no stoppages in production and that production is maintained.
The company is also looking for applicants to train as machine and plant operators (m/f/d) for another apprenticeship position in the tube mill. During the two-year apprenticeship, the apprentices receive a broad overview of the diverse work processes of a leading precision steel tube production and receive comprehensive training and support from experienced supervisors and colleagues. In this way, they learn to operate, control and monitor the various metalworking machines. The success of the training is ensured by targeted training measures in addition to everyday work.
