Poppe + Potthoff Präzisionsstahlrohre develops and manufactures seamless precision steel tubes from high-quality materials – tailored to diverse technical requirements. We differentiate between the material portfolio of our standard program and the specially developed materials for injection lines, which withstand extreme stresses.
Materials in the Standard Program
Our standard program includes a wide selection of materials for classic industrial applications in mechanical engineering, drive technology, automation, medical technology, and many more. The materials used comply with international standards such as ISO 683, EN 10305, or ASTM A 519 and cover a wide variety of application scenarios:
Quenched and Tempered Steels (ISO 683-1/-2)
For components with high mechanical requirements:

Materials for Injection Lines
For high-pressure applications such as diesel injection systems, hydraulic control units, or test benches, particularly resilient materials are required. Poppe + Potthoff offers specially developed materials and modified delivery conditions that ensure high strength, excellent formability, and a defect-free internal surface.
Special Materials:
- E215 und E355 – proven in various delivery conditions for medium to high pressure requirements
- C1010 – carbon steel according to ASTM standard, optimized for forming processes
- PP600 – proprietary development for high-pressure applications, available in several hardness levels
- PP1000 – enables, for example, a fatigue strength of up to 2,700 bar for the dimension AD 6.35 / ID 3.00, which is common in the automotive sector, and up to 3,200 bar for the dimension AD 8.00 / ID 3.00, which is typical in commercial vehicles.
These materials are optimized for extreme pressure conditions and guarantee reliable performance under dynamic loads. The defect-free internal surface is ensured by a proprietary manufacturing process and increases the safety of the overall system.

Material for Hydrogen Components
With our material PPH2, we have developed an innovative alternative for manufacturing various components for hydrogen applications. PPH2 offers a combination of high strength and ductility and is particularly suitable for pipes and rails (manifolds). Thanks to its fine-grained structure achieved through a precisely adjusted annealing treatment, the material exhibits excellent mechanical properties. Components made from PPH2 can be manufactured with reduced wall thickness – reducing weight and CO₂ emissions throughout the production process.
