Common Rail Systems for Marine Applications

For use at sea, Poppe + Potthoff develops highly secure diesel injection technology that meets the highest standards of safety and reliability. Double-walled common rail systems are used wherever special protection against leaks is required or legally mandated, such as in ship engines or power generators on oil platforms.

For this specific market, Poppe + Potthoff has developed innovative concepts to provide additional protection for existing products—cost-efficiently and with minimal weight increase. For well-known large engine manufacturers, we have, for example, implemented a common rail system for a V16 engine. In this system, the common rail is protected by a rectangular casing pipe, while the fuel lines are fully double-walled to ensure maximum safety.
