New P+P common rail design – up to 40% weight reduction

Poppe + Potthoff has developed a revolutionary design for common rail systems for diesel engines.

This new design leads to a weight reduction of up to 40% when compared to most other solutions currently in use. All OEMs strive to reduce weight in the front end of the vehicle for better emission goals and to reduce fuel consumption.. P+P’s rail is a clear milestone to this end, as it is considerably lighter than its competitors.

The new common rail offers additional advantages as no brackets are needed and it contains two accumulator chambers, increasing the damping of the system’s hydraulic oscillations.

The complete design takes up less space and is much easier to install on the engine assembly line.
Poppe + Potthoff already has the patent pending for this new solution.
